In 1933 Wynne Williams started up her own small abattoir and butcher's shop in Northop near Flint. In 2013 we celebrated our 80th year in business. In that time Williams of Flint has grown into one of the most respected catering meat suppliers in the North West. We have combined traditional master butcher skills with cutting-edge meat preparation facilities and a large dedicated logistics team to provide a truly first class service.
We supply a wide range of products to some of the very best catering restaurants and hotels stretching to as far as Anglesey in the West, Preston in the North and Telford in the South. We supply Michelin starred restaurants and five star hotels as well as specialist restaurants and gastro pubs. All delivered on time and in premium condition. We even offer a same day delivery service. As the company has grown we haven’t forgotten our roots though and our business is still built on a firm commitment to provide our customers with quality Welsh meat.
Our Welsh Lamb and Beef has PGI status (Protected Geographical Indication) meaning its' origin and quality are recognised by the HCC (Hybu Cig Cymru). A product can only be called Welsh PGI if it is labelled as such. The main requirements of PGI Welsh Lamb and PGI Welsh Beef are that animals must be born and reared in Wales, fully traceable and slaughtered and processed in an HCC approved abattoir / cutting plant. Williams of Flint are a fully approved and accredited HCC cutting plant.
Our Welsh beef and lamb is of the highest standard, sourced locally from trusted farmers. Each supplier has to pass stringent quality control standards in addition to operating schemes such as the EBLEX quality standard mark.
Our signature product is our Welsh Dry Aged beef, which is carefully chilled and aged in state-of-the-art chilling rooms to achieve perfection. It is hung on the bone for an absolute minimum of 21 days. All of the beef animals are graded and selected on strict carcass specifications and weight parameters with only the finest Welsh beef being allowed into our product range.
It’s not just beef that gets the five star treatment though. Our award winning Welsh lamb, imported meats, specialty sausages, charcuterie range and specialist services are all part of the success story. The Williams of Flint team will even work to chefs and caterers own recipes following specific criteria to create bespoke hamburgers, pre-prepared joints and unique cuts that are only available on their respective menus.
With over 50 dedicated staff and a fleet of 12 refrigerated delivery vans we have the scale to deal with larger customers such as hotels and sporting venues but can also supply independent pubs and small restaurants with cost effective catering solutions.
